Education was her passion. Chess Club was the vehicle she used for rewarding her students in math. It was by invitation only and her students worked hard to receive that invitation. She understood Chess wired kid’s brains into being problem solvers and it was her desire to see it spread throughout the community. We are honoring her legacy as a gifted teacher by starting Mrs. Moore’s Chess Club Foundation, which will help schools receive funding to open their own Chess Club.

• Who Qualifies? Any Lee County Public School that wants to start a Chess Club. The Chess Club Primary Teacher should be strong in teaching Critical Thinking, most likely Math or Science, but not limited to those subjects.
• How To Receive Funding: The Chess Club Teacher should offer insight as to ‘why’ they want to start a chess club or why they need more supplies. Schools will be supplied with chess boards as funding lasts.
