Disaster Relief Fund
Disaster Relief Fund will be used to support students, teachers, and faculty in the School District of Lee County Public Schools.
Dear Friends, Community Members and Concerned Citizens,
With over 100,000 students and being the second largest employer in Southwest Florida, students and educators are in need of disaster relief due to hurricanes and other natural disasters or circumstances outside of their control. We want to make sure we meet the needs of the students and educators as they arise. Homelessness, loss of transportation, loss of personal belongings like clothes and bedding require immediate assistance to make sure all teachers are ready to teach, and all students are ready to learn as soon as possible after a disaster strikes.
During these very trying times it is essential that our students and educators in the School District of Lee County receive all of the support our community can muster. The cornerstone of an economically strong community is a quality public education system. Our students and teachers have been through so much over the past few years starting with the pandemic, Hurricane Ian and most recently Hurricane Helene and Milton hitting our coast within two weeks of each other. We have many students, teachers, and facility still rebuilding from Ian in 2022. It is incumbent on us as a community to make sure they have the means to continue the learning process and keep as much normalcy as possible. This means making sure that they have their immediate needs met.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is here and ready to help where we are needed. We have set up a Disaster Relief Fund to take monetary donations. If you would like to donate funds, please do so using the link below.
We must help our community to recover and rebuild after disasters of any kind and the damage they caused to our friends and loved ones.
Stay safe, stay strong and let’s stick together!
